On March 7, 2016, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea in his capacity as Ambassador for World Protected Areas has given the lunching impetus for 2016 celebrations of INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WORLD PROTECTED AREAS AND NATURAL PARKS.
The ceremonies will take place on 18 March 2016 at European Council on Tourism and Trade headquarter, under the patronage of ECTT President-Dr. Anton Caragea.
18 March is the World National Parks and Protected Areas Day and is designated, as a day to emphasize the importance of a sustainable future where people can live harmonized with a nature.
This year ceremony will be themed on ETHIOPIA-the official WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION IN 2015 and will present the country outstanding efforts of protecting the natural biodiversity and natural areas such as: Bale Mountains National Park, Semien Mountains National Park, Harar Wildlife Sanctuary etc.
An exhibition of photos and 3D images was also inaugurated on 7 March 2016, in line with the celebration.
President Dr. Anton Caragea visited the exhibition ground while mingling with the staff.
The European Council on Tourism and Trade President will plant a sapling in Danube delta natural reservation. A number of books written on the environment by members and staffers of European Tourism Academy will be presented on this occasion.
In 2014 the ceremonies for World Protected Areas and Natural Parks highlighted Laos outstanding potential as WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION.
In 2015 the ceremonies concentrated on Zimbabwe remarkable conservation efforts as WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION.
In 2016 the celebrations will be focused on Ethiopian potential and unique natural prowess.
Understanding the importance of "World Protected Areas and Natural Parks Day"
To promote researches and monitoring about National Parks and Protected Areas
To provide more opportunities to people who want to experience natures through more chances related to ecotourism and recreations in National Parks
To raise the awareness of international communities on the value and significant implications of National Parks and Protected Areas
To share best practices and experiences about National Parks and Protected Areas
To offer prizes and recognition to countries and managers/and experts who contribute to successful management of national parks and protected areas.
